Who Are We

Small Fish Drafting LLC was founded by Jeremiah Ward in 2004. My passion for architecture began at the early age of four when I drew my first floor plan, kindled by my father, a building inspector and plans examiner for the City of Scottsdale. I sharpened my skills throughout high school and started designing houses on paper. I soon transitioned to Computer Aided Drafting (CAD) and attended Glendale Community College where I majored in Architecture. I worked for an architectural firm for several months but struggled being an entrepreneur in a cubicle. I started my own company with just a handful of projects and felt like a "small fish in a big pond", and the name stuck.​

I strive to make the permit process as painless as possible. The daunting online portals, building codes, electronic submittal and regulations can be overwhelming. That is why I handle your entire project from design to permit. Contact me to see how I can help you.

Mon - Fri: 9am - 5pm (Calls & Zoom Meetings)

Site visits are only available on Tuesdays, Wednesdays & Thursdays each week on a first-come first-serve basis. Accomodations can be made outside of these times if necessary.
Sat - Sun: Closed

Homeowners & First Time Projects

If this is your first project and you don't know where to start or what to expect, you can get in to trouble. We do this full time so that we can help you avoid the pit falls of going over budget, increasing the scope of work and failure to receive a permit at the city.

Once the design is approved, the second step is to create the drawings and specs. Every project differs and will vary in its requirements. We can provide the necessary engineering to secure a permit. This process will vary, taking three to five weeks.

Satisfaction Guaranteed

Your plans are done. The engineering is in and it's time to submit to the city. We have built relationships with many cities and are on a first-name basis with many reviewers. All cities have transitioned to an electronic plan review system. This process will vary from two to six weeks, depending on the municipality and its current load.

*Cash incentive only applies to Small Fish Drafting LLC's fees. Third party contractor or engineer fees are not subject to a discount.Cash payments will be split into two payments; 50% due to comence work and 50% due when work is completed and ready for city submittal.
